My rationalizations
Chapel is totally a Ravenclaw because she's a total brain. The writer's guide refers to her as holding several university degrees and plus she went back to finish her education when she was in her thirties. She's usually doing lab work when she isn't nursing people back to health and she seems like the type to read academic journals for fun.

Spock is a Ravenclaw by default because he seems to put the highest value on reason, logic, and intellect. I don't think any other house would fit him as well as Ravenclaw would.

Kirk I would place in Slytherin because he doesn't always use the best means for the desired outcome. He isn't evil but he isn't a stickler for the rules either. He's definitely cunning, how else could he outsmart robots and computers? He could be Gryffindor but the episode "Obsession" really cements my thought for him as a Slytherin.

McCoy is a Gryffindor in my book because he's always willing to sacrifice himself for the benefit of others like in "The Empath" and Khan even called him brave in "Space Seed." He's definitely smart but intellect doesn't seem as important to him as bravery. He could definitely be a Hufflepuff because of his loyalty but I think his bravery is a stronger quality than his loyalty.

Crazy stuff is always happening with engineering and Scotty is pretty noble so I would put him in Gryffindor. That house just seems to suit him best. He's the easiest one to sort.

Uhura is a Hufflepuff to me because there is no one on that crew who works harder than Uhura and is more accepting and loyal than anyone else on the crew I think. She greatly trusts her superior officers and wouldn't turn on them without concrete proof. I think she exemplifies the best in Hufflepuff.

Sulu also seemed like a Hufflepuff to me because he seems like everyone's best friend. He's a good friend it seems and that's one of the distinguishing traits of Hufflepuffs.

Chekov just seemed like Slytherin to me because he seems the most ambitious of all the crew. He was still in space while everyone was grounded on Earth. I think he wanted to take his career as far as it could go. He also liked making out with women when there was other more important things to do, that's just so Slytherin of him.

I would put Rand in Gryffindor because of "The Enemy Within." She was just so brave in fighting off her attacker and being able to talk about it right after it happened.

Other characters not in the poll?
Sarek: Ravenclaw obviously
Amanda: Hufflepuff
Carol Marcus: Ravenclaw
David Marcus: Slytherin (it was a toss up between Gryffindor and Slytherin but then I remembered he used promatter)
Gillian: Gryffindor
T'Pring: Slytherin
Edith Keeler: Hufflepuff

I didn't complete the poll, but my first instinct was always to put Spock into Slytherin.I don't think that Slytherin is just "bad". Snape was Slytherin, but wasn't bad as we know. Spock is powerful, even if he doesn't choose to exercise or display his power. He perceives that which is underneath and hidden. He can influence and manipulate by the power of his mind. I don't think that the House was put into Hogwarts simply to house the bad guys. I think that Spock's secrecy and hidden power puts him straight into Slytherin, the man who can do good despite the outward appearances.

Scotty's Hogwarts House
I legitimately believe that Scotty would be in Ravenclaw. In the reboot series he was the one who discovered the amazing transwarp theory (with the help of a certain Vulcan). Yes, he is very loyal and brave (and a bit insistent at times), but that doesn't necessarily or immediately make you a Gryffindor. Ravenclaws are known for being proud and clever, both of which describe Sotty perfectly. In the series he does a lot of amazingly clever things that I can't understand because I'm a teenager and not an engineer, and also it's set 250 years in the future. So I think he would wind up in Ravenclaw and not Gryffindor.

Or maybe he's a Gryffinclaw. Hm.
